The Grand Falls Public Library offers many services :
Free access to books, periodicals, videos, cds, cassettes and for those with special needs, we have large print and talking books. In all we have a collection of more than 25 000 documents.
The library has 7 computers available to the public with access to the internet and word processing at no charge. The computers also offer free access to several databases, including Electric Library and Canadian Reference Centre (full-text reference materials), Health Source: Consumer Edition (health information), and Virtual News Library (daily newspapers). Printing, photocopying, scanning and faxing services are also available for a small fee.
Interested in genealogy? The library has a wonderful genealogy collection which was donated by a local patron. It deals mainly with French families in the Grand Falls area and in Quebec. The library has a microfilm reader with a collection of microfilms of the The Cataract dating from 1953-2001.
The Activity Room is available for holding conferences or meetings to community groups or non-profits organizations at no charge.
Library cards are free for residents of New Brunswick, all that is required is one piece of identification with your current address. (A parent's or legal guardian's signature is required for children under 13 years of age).
Check out your local newspapers or visit our web site for activities offered by the library, such as the Summer Reading Club, Hackmatack club, and author visits.
The Grand Falls public library is a part of the New-Brunswick Library Service which means that you have access to more than 1.8 million items.
