Grand Falls Green Plan Grand Falls citizens are invited to a public meeting concerning the Grand Falls Green Plan on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. in the Roland Lafrance Hall in the municipal building at 131 Pleasant Street. At this meeting, the final document for the Grand Falls green plan will be presented to the public. All citizens are welcome and are encouraged to attend.

(Under Section 25 of the Community Planning Act) Notice is hereby given that the Grand Falls Town Council intends to consider amendments to By-law No. 93 entitled "Municipal Plan By-law'' to re-affect lands as follows:
For the purposes of the Municipal Plan, the land use classification is changed as follows:
re-affect from affectation C (commercial) to R (Residential) part of the property located along Harrison Street and having PID 65096141for a distance of 525 feet and a depth of 120 feet
. Council will meet at the Town Hall at 7:00 p.m., August 10th, 2010 for the public presentation of the proposed amendments.
Written objections to the said amendments may be made to the Council by forwarding them to the Town Clerk within thirty (30) days after the public presentation is held.
Environment Programs The town of Grand Falls is again offering it’s Reforestation program in 2010.

New municipal by-law on garbage collection On January 1st, 2010, the Town of Grand Falls will put into effect its by-law 87 respecting the collection and disposal of garbage. Please note that each residential owner must obtain a container on wheels whose model is adaptable to the garbage truck’s lifting arm mechanism. Each residence will be authorized one (1) container only of a maximum capacity of 360 liters (95 gallons). The containers may be bought from any retailer. However, for those who wish to finance the cost of the container, you must obtain the container at North West Sanitation at 29 Waddell Loop and make payments at the Grand Falls town hall at 131 Pleasant Street. The collection days remain the same namely, on Tuesday for the South side of the river and Wednesday for the North side. Special collections will be organized during the year to dispose of items that do not meet the requirements for regular garbage collection. The dates of these special collections will be set at a later date. Please contact the municipal office at 475-7777 for more information or to obtain a copy of the by-law.
